Black Huckleberry

Gaylussacia baccata

Grows 1 to 3 feet tall. Slowly colonizing shrub with light pink blooms in spring followed by black fruit with wildlife value. Excellent red fall colors. Found in pine barrens and rocky upland forest openings. Sun to Shade. Moist to dry, well-drained acidic soil.
