Grows from 5 to 10 feet with an 8 to 12 foot spread. Shrub with shiny, dark-green, semi-deciduous aromatic leaves. Female plants bear small, gray, waxy fruits that are good for birds. Commonly found growing on coastal shores. Sun to partial sun. Grows in poor, sandy soil. Salt and drought tolerant.
