Grows 40 to 70 feet high and 40 to 50 feet wide. Large, dark green leaves. Catkins appear in April and May; fruits mature from July to August and fall from the tree when fully ripe. 1 inch long fruits attract birds and are good for human consumption. Pollution and salt tolerant. Full to partial sun. Adaptable to many soil types but tolerant of wet soils for only short periods.
