Woody vine growing to 50 feet. White blooms in late spring followed by purple sweet-sour berries from late summer to fall. Adaptable to many sites and soil conditions and can be found growing in woodland edges and openings, sand dunes, thickets, powerline clearings, and areas along rivers, lakes, and ditches. Full sun to light shade. Moist to slightly dry conditions.

Grows to 12 feet with similar spread.  A fast growing, suckering, upright shrub.  Clusters of showy, white flowers in late spring followed by bright red berries that persist into winter. Yellow-red fall color. Found in low woods and moist thickets. Good for birds. Full to partial sun. Moist to wet soil.

Grows 2 to 6 inches. Spreading evergreen groundcover found on rocky mountain tops. White blooms late May to early June. Foliage turns burgundy-deep red in fall. Durable. 2004 Cary Award winner. Full to partial sun. Acidic, well drained soil.

Grows 2 to 5 feet high and spreads 3 to 6 feet. Slowly suckering shrub with  dark-green, aromatic foliage. Found in swamps, bogs and lakeshores. Good for shore-dwelling birds. Moist to wet soil. Sun to partial sun.

Grows 8 to 10 feet with similar spread.  Spreads rapidly by underground shoots. Clusters of white flowers in spring followed by white berries in the fall. Plants have attractive red twigs providing winter interest and browse for wildlife. Berries are good for birds. Sun to partial sun. Moist to wet soil. Tolerates poor drainage. Found along lake, stream and river edges and in wet areas. Good for birds.

Woodland groundcover that grows to 6 inches and spreads by underground by rhizomes. Has four showy white bracts that surround the flowers in early summer, followed by a clusters of red berries. Generally a shade plant but will grow in full sun in cooler areas. Needs cool, moist, acidic soil.
